WRAPS Grant Livestock Water Quality Projects

Kansas Crossroads Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) has received Watershed Restoration and Protection Strategy (WRAPS) funds to provide cost sharing for water quality projects that will make improvements to livestock operations in the Lower Republican River Watershed. 

Eligible Practices: Water supply practices such as watering equipment, tanks, pumps, spring developments and ponds; fencing to exclude livestock from riparian areas or water bodies; other livestock related practices with water quality benefits.  Approved practices must be maintained for 10 years or for the established NRCS practice life, whichever is greater.

Eligible Locations: Project locations must be located within the Lower Republican River watershed.  This includes parts of Jewell, Mitchell, Republic, Cloud, Washington, Clay, Riley and Geary Counties in Kansas.

Cost Share Amount: Kansas Crossroads RC&D will provide 80% cost share up to a maximum of $4,750 cost share per project.

Application Process: Applications will be accepted beginning July 1, 2009 until all funds have been committed.  Application forms will be available from Kansas Crossroads RC&D at www.kansascrossroads.com and may be submitted to Kansas Crossroads RC&D at PO Box 501, Clay Center, KS  67432.
